Nanochemistry Camp: uniting minds in the world of nanotechnology

BOW Project is organizing a new summer camp, the Nanochemistry Camp, slated for this September, from the 21st to the 28th. Partnering with the I.S.E.O. Institute and the University of Brescia, this international residential summer school promises to be a beacon for master’s and doctoral students in chemistry and related disciplines, studying nanochemistry.

What sets the Nanochemistry Camp apart is its unique format, designed to foster interaction between students and globally renowned experts in the field. Picture this: a serene campsite overlooking the breathtaking Lake Iseo, where Nobel laureates and distinguished professors come together in an informal setting to share their insights and experiences. Among the illustrious speakers are:

  • Andre Geim, Nobel Laureate in Physics 2010.
  • Roberta Sessoli, professor at the Laboratory of Molecular Magnetism, Università di Firenze.
  • Paul Dyson, professor at Institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
  • Sijbren Otto, professor at the Centre for Systems Chemistry, University of Groningen.
  • Katharina Landfester, professor at Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research.
  • Edman Tsang, Wolfson Catalysis Laboratory, Oxford University.

Nanochemistry, at its core, straddles the boundaries of physics, chemistry, and biology, unravelling the mysteries of matter at the nanoscale. It’s the science of objects ranging from a few nanometres to hundreds of nanometres, with profound implications across various sectors. From revolutionizing electronics and energy with compact, efficient devices to transforming medicine through targeted drug delivery and sensitive sensors, nanochemistry is a catalyst for technological advancement and sustainable development.

Are you a master’s or doctoral student with a passion for pushing the boundaries of science? The Nanochemistry Camp invites you to be part of this transformative journey. Admission is competitive and contingent upon the evaluation of your scientific contribution abstract, motivation letter, and CV by the esteemed Scientific Committee. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this intellectual feast—submit your application by June 10th, 2024. Early applications are encouraged, as seats are limited.
